Horn Island 35 Animation

Every year students and alumni from Memphis college of art would go to Horn Island for ten days to follow in the footsteps of the artist Walter Anderson. Memphis College of art will be closing in 2020, so this is the last year MCA will sponsor the trip. After my third trip to Horn Island, I decided to make an animation on some of my favorite things on the island. Like things that would wash up on the beach like a tv covered in sand and barnacles. Like the scampering Racoons hiding in the bushes, relaxed alligators, lazily swimming in the ocean and lagoons, or hermit crabs cramped together on a single rock. The angry Terns that would squawk if you got within 10 feet of their nest, and the Ospreys that would defend their nests with the same intensity. The sunrise I saw after walking to the west tip of the island with other campers. Conversation in the morning over coffee, blooming morning glories, after dinner campfires, and the beach at night. Those were some of my favorite things on Horn Island.
